U.S. companies trim workers’ hours to skirt Obamacare

This article talks a little about how the healthcare reform might be shaping the workforce to more part time jobs. This may make a good case for staffing agencies to help fill those voids opened by cutback on hours. This could be done by not just providing new workers for those positions, but maybe with their current workers contracted with the staffing agencies.

"In the United States, where Obamacare is forcing companies to consider that very question, the choice of many managers appears to be to limit workers to 29 hours a week."(CARMICHAEL,2013)

Larger companies in the U.S. now using staffing agencies.

Using temporary workers enables the company to have adequate staff on busy weeknights and weekends without having to hire additional full-time staff. This is also an option for some companies to help cushion them from the changes in healthcare coming up in 2014.

Here is an interesting article on how Wal-mart is now using staffing to cover short staffing and busy seasons.
